Bob Jean Bob Jean began his photography career in 1976 shooting for his local newspaper with a 35mm camera. In 1982 he set up "Portraits At Home", a full time operation that went into people's homes and would shoot family and baby portraits, high school senior portraits, and weddings on the weekends. His careful, photojournalitic, yet elogant style was so unique and successful that he built "Log Cabin Studio" in 1984, a log structure dedicated to his craft.
Bob Jean understands how important it is to invest in great equipment. He uses the finest, most high end Canon lenses, the newest digital cameras, high end Speedotron in-studio lighting, and Novotron portable studio lighting. His on camera lighting includes Lumdyne, one of the most powerful on camera systems available. He understands how important it is to keep apprised of the changes in his craft. His membership in Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, attending many of the workshops they provide in Las Vegas every year with the best photographers in the world has made his work outstanding. "When I show up for a photo shoot I'm bringing decades of photographic experience and dependable, well maintained equipment, and I know how to use it", Jean confidently assures his wedding couples. |
"In earlier days we were shooting with medium format range finder cameras where we couldn't even look through the lens. They did a great job, but you can't even compare that equipment with what is used today", Jean says. "Some days when I'm on the computer working in photoshop I just have to laugh out loud when I think back at our color lab we used to print our portraits in. Enlargers and chemicals and photo drums, that all seems so long ago now. It was a great education, and it certainly made me a much better photographer, and it sure does help me make the most out of today's technology, that's for sure. But one can't even compare what was produced then with what I can do now".
